Domaine Du Bois Noël Savigny-Lès-Beaune
About Domaine Du Bois Noël
Located in the North of Côte de Beaune, it is one of the oldest Estates of Savigny-les-Beaune: it went through the French Revolution of 1789… And one of the most prestigious: it’s 6 Premiers Crus are among the best of Savigny-les-Beaune (Les Peuillets, Les Narbantons, Les Clous, Les Serpentières, Les Jarrons, Les Hauts-Jarrons). Maurice Ecard is considered as the father of Savigny-Les-Beaune wine appellation and his Domaine is a reference of excellence. The Domaine spreads over nearly fifteen hectares. Its wines are well-known for their deep color, their full-bodied structure and their remarkable ageing potential. Today, the entire Domaine is conducted by Jacques Briday, a proponent of sustainable vine growing, meaning that the way each plot is tended is adapted to its real time requirements. Our vine growing methods respect the environment.
The wine making is performed by Dominique Glardon, who holds the National Diploma of Oenology from the University of Reims. Benefiting from a modern winery in Meursault, the wine making is classic and respects the traditions of Burgundy. In order to avoid unnecessary pumping, all the processes are carried out by gravity. The objective is to respect the grapes and to intervene as little as possible so that the soil can best express itself for each appellation. After a strict selection the grapes are transported to the winery in small crates.
