Aragòn, Spain

Bodegas Langa is family owned and operated and is the only bodega in the Calatayud region that is not a cooperative. The family’s business model requires a family member to be in every aspect of their operation. Their grapes are grown in either of their two estate vineyards, which are located in different parts of the region with distinctively different microclimates. No herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals of any kind are used in the vineyards. All of their wines and cavas are produced organically with the European certification. The bodega is now working to obtain the U.S. organic certification. Shelftalkers

90 points – International Wine Cellar

"Real de Aragon Garnacha 2012 is aged for 3 months in American oak casks. This high pitched red wine has a vivid purple color and dark berry aromas that show very good clarity with hints of peppery spices and fresh rose emerging with time in the glass. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry and cherry compote flavors. A sexy spice cake nuance adds complexity to the finish with notes of sweet raspberry and floral pastille.".
