Winemaker:  Joe Dobbes Dobbes Family Estate’s winemaking objectives are to produce wines true to their varietal character with as much depth, richness, elegance, balance and flavor possible without going over-the-top with tannins, extract, barrels, or alcohol. The wines are highly fruited, rich with aromas and often have a faint impression of sweetness on the palate due to ripe tannins and ripe fruit. Close attention to detail in the vineyard such as crop load, site selection and harvest timing, gentle handling of the fruit, as well as fermentation and aging methodologies lead to wines which are juicy, mouth-filling and delicious with well-balanced acidity. Joe Dobbes has been making wine for 20 years. He apprenticed at Wiengut Erbhof Tesch, in the German Nahe region and at Domaine G. Roumier and Domaine Comtes Lafon in the Burgundy region, France, with winemasters Christophe Roumier and Dominque Lafon. Back in Oregon, Joe Dobbes has crafted wine for Elk Cove Vineyards, Eola Hills, Hinman/Sylvan Ridge, Paschal Winery, Willamette Valley Vineyards including Griffin Creek and Tualitan Estate; and has consulted with various clients, including Torii Mor. Golden straw color. Complex, forward apricot, nutmeg and vanilla aromas. Medium body with clean acidity. Melon, citrus, lemon, vanilla and apricot flavors. Long, mouth-watering finish with lingering barrel spice and apricot. Done in an Old World style, the limited barrel aging (25%) combined with stainless steel aging creates a perfect balance.

Each parcel is vinified and aged separately, allowing for optimum site expression and blending mastery. 17 months in 100% French oak (25% new). Aromas of modest cherry, dried cranberry and strawberry fruit are in step with earthy forest floor, tobacco and integrated toasted oak. Structured tannins frame the palate filled with medium bodied dried cherry, raspberry and cola notes that stretch into a long acid-driven finish.

“This is ripe but attractively fresh with briar and floral hints on the mostly dark pinot fruit suffused nose. There is good depth to the silky and admirably pure middle weight flavors that possess good phenolic maturity to the supporting structural elements, all wrapped in a clean, agreeably dry and austere finish. This will not be for everyone as the austerity is not subtle but I very much like the linear, focused and well-balanced finale.” Allen Meadows, burghound.com - April 2012 - 90 points

Bright notes of fresh cut pears, green apples and hints of creamy vanilla characters on the nose are mirrored on the elegant, crisp palate and are balanced with citrus zest and flinty acidity for a long, lively finish.

100% of the fruit comes from Dobbes Family Estate’s Larkin Vineyard where it’s hand-harvested and brought to Dobbes’ LIVE certified winery. This wine opens up initially with aromas of vanilla, pears, flint and apples. The palate delivers rich flavors of peach and citrus fruit balanced by refreshingly crisp talc-flinty acidity. A medium-bodied, rich, but crisp wine with text book Pinot Blanc nuances.

Dark garnet hues, moderate tannins and alcohol and complex red fruit and earth
characters make this wine a classic Oregon Pinot Noir. This Pinot’s full body is framed with dusty tannins and clean acid that lead into to a medium-long finish full of tart cherry and rhubarb notes with integrated hints of toasted oak.
