Corbières, France

The 60-hectare property is located in Fabrezan, halfway between Narbonne and Carcassonne, in the Aude Département. Lying on the terroir of Lagrasse, it is the most “mountainous” of our Languedoc vineyards. Run by Lionel Pugibet, born into a Béziers winemaking family, the vineyard’s grape varieties are syrah, carignan and grenache for the red wines and rosés, and roussane and macabeu for the whites. Partly sheltered from the Cers (the sometime violent North-West winds coming from Narbonne) by Mont Alaric, the vines strike deep roots in the typically Mediterranean red clay-limestone soil. Pale pink. The nose is very expressive with notes of citrus and red berries such as redcurrant and cherry. In the mouth, it is fruity and delicate with floral notes of peony. The finish is sharp and precise. A little tangy which keeps its momentum.

Deep red color, with warm and complex aromas of dark fruits. Long, soft finish. Great with grilled meats, pizza or hard cheeses. A blend of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault and Mourvèdre.
