Sarapo Family Wines was born out of desire to save outstanding barrels of handcrafted wine from being sold to giant producers and blended into obscurity. They do not “make” Sarapo wines from grape to bottle. They seek out small lots made by other artisan winemakers in order to carefully blend our own limited-production wines of distinction and personality. Kent Humphrey and Dan Fishman (Co-Winemakers at Eric Kent Wine Cellars) devote themselves to discovering and purchasing small lots for Sarapo Family and to creating the finished blends. They call their label Sarapo Family Wines in honor of Kent’s Italian heritage. Sarapo is his mother’s maiden name, and legend has it that various branches of the family were involved in wine long before Kent was born. With great admiration for all of the Italian family members who share this vinous history, they give each wine a “family name” inspired by relatives from generations past and present. sarapo-nonita'Nonita' Sauvignon Blanc
An unabashedly exotic expression of Sauvignon Blanc that gushes with tropical flavors and aromas. Sourced from select Bennett and Dry Creek Valley vineyards, layer after layer of ripe guava, passion fruit and apricot combine refreshingly with traces of lemongrass and mint. Partial (neutral) oak aging helps to provide a deep and resinous body that finishes with a clean snap of pink grapefruit.
sarapo-tessa'Tessa' Chardonnay
Notes of citrus, lychee and pineapple on the nose combine into crisp lemon meringue and stone fruit on the palate. The wine unfolds into a soft buttery texture on the mid- palate and finishes with a lively acidity.
sarapo-donato'Donato' Pinot Noir
A supple, very pretty Pinot Noir. Punchy aromas of dark cherry, raspberry and baking spices lead to an exuberant medium-bodied wine with a long, clean, spicy finish. The well integrated French oak (40% new) adds a seamless complimentary complexity to the fruit.
